Tunisia : air traffic controllers angry


Many flights were disrupted Monday in Tunisia following a protest by air traffic controllers , departures as arrivals experiencing delays and some aircraft being diverted to other airports .

The demands of air traffic controllers are the same as in January : the enactment of a new statute that would become civilians, is still pending despite the agreement signed with the Tunisian authorities for civil aviation . The Office of Civil Aviation and Airports ( oaca ) had agreed to integrate military controllers so that all end up with the same marital status . The Union Controllers Aerial said he was ready to go on strike if their demands are not met . He received the support of the Tunisian Association of Airline Pilots , which " deplores the fact that the authority has not taken the necessary measures, as requested by the union based air traffic controllers to ensure succession and non-publication of NOTAMS to allow different users of the service (operator, driver) to take the measures required . " It also recommends for Tuesday " to its members and partners to take the measures they deem necessary in terms of flight control , fuel choice and additional clearance in the case organizations where this risk to persist and even get tougher may cause significant disruption of air traffic . "
